Their best rifle is the media
"I was in my bed when an explosion rocked our house." I tell of combat on the edge of the Peace Community, and analyze how the military reported on it. Meanwhile, community kids carry on in a party. Filmed on October 30, 2010. If you'd rather read about this, look at the previous post.

thanks Isaac. this is really well done. and it's pretty awesome to combine this narrative with images of daily life in the community. good idea.
ReplyDeleteOh Isaac, I can't begin to imagine how deep the complex web of truth, lie and media spin is that surrounds the village. I felt the same frustration with the constant state of portrayed falsehood about the occupation of Palestine when we were living there. So many years out, I still do.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time it is hard to be hopeful that major change will come. But then I see so many actions--big and small--and realize that change can only come person by person. I hope that your presence bolsters the community's energy by providing an outlet to blast truth to the world outside. We are listening, watching, trying to make sense of it, and finding ways to speak out - through supporting you, altering our lifestyle choices, and increasing our communication to our own governments about what is going on elsewhere.
La paz.
